How We Got Engaged:

On the afternoon of December 8, 2007, we were getting ready to attend a Christmas party when Dan decided he needed to go have his hair trimmed. He was gone for some time and when he returned he suggested we go to our favorite park. This park is very significant to us as we got caught in the rain there on our second date and got completely drenched! :-) This day was no different as it had started to lightly sprinkle. When we got to the hill where we had first held hands, my Dan dropped to one knee and asked if I would marry him and hold his hand forever. Of course I said Yes! He then presented me with a little blue box! By this time it had started to rain quite a bit so Dan and I took shelter at the playground and got down to the business of opening the little blue box. Me being me, it took FOREVER as I didn't want to damage the paper or white ribbon, which I neatly folded and put safely in my purse! FINALLY, it was open and there sat the most beautiful Tiffany ring in all the world! Afterwards we had dinner at our favorite restaurant in St. Louis, Annie Gunn's. It was the most romantic day ever! My Dan has the best taste and I'm a lucky girl! ;-)

How We Met
We first met last Spring in the University City Loop area of St. Louis. Soon after we had our first date at Brandt's, also in the Loop. We spent the rest of the evening taking a stroll and going for dessert at Ben & Jerry's. After that we pretty much became inseparable! We spent the summer cooking (Dan as chef, Jenny as Sous Chef), eating out, and riding our bicycles at Creve Coeur Lake. The fall brought lots of travel with trips to Iowa to see Dan's family, a weekend in Chicago,a week in Monte Carlo while Dan was there for a meeting, Las Vegas over Thanksgiving, and a weekend in Memphis to watch Dan's brother run in a marathon. Not that we're all action and adventure - we do enjoy spending time at home with our dogs, Bea and Ol' Sul.
